Running to travel adventures like...💃🏽
*
*
... and then a stranger takes even better shots of you (thank you @mohammadrsharaf 🙏❤️; 1st shot by my faithful tripod Valentino).
*
What do you think about visiting countries whose government is doing things you oppose to? Does our visit support those in power or maybe (I hope) by visiting /travelling we can start a dialogue that will hopefully bring on (democratic)changes?
*
*
You see this incredible building on the pics is Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku. Designed by the master talent of Zaha Hadid, it is famous forits special shape and wonderful architectural features.
*
And yet, it is also named after a person some may call a 'dictator'.
*
I try to hope that visiting countries that have not yet established full democracy is helpful.. Imagine if my mom had no foreign visitors during communism in Poland (before I was born) - how isolating that would have been. What do you think?
*

TIP: the centre opens late at 11:00 so no point going there for sunrise. However, you can take plenty shots outside, or/and pop in to a lovely German bakery Brot Haus on one side of the square for a cuppa & breakfast before the doors open. It fills up pretty quickly but you can still take plenty of 'alone' shots, just be patient with other visitors. The centre house a fantastic collection of art + exhibition of the history of #Azerbaijan so plan 1-3 hours for it. There is also a cafe and wifi.

Why fly with a plane when you can use your umbrella? 😜💃🏽🌂🌂🌂 Who is a fan of Mary Poppins? 🙋🏻‍♀️
*
Seriously the wind was very strong & at one point I got scared but we made sure to stay safe. We as the photographer of this shot is lovely Carine @carine_igshooting who I found on ig to make that crazy shoot happen:) Merci 🙏❤️. *
My heroine of Paris pictures the one & only @nathalie_wanders shared an incredible story of the Eiffel Tower origin: it was pitched to & meant to be standing in.. Spain! 😳but helas the Spaniards rejected it thinking it would ruin the view.. Yeap. ( WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? 🤦🏻‍♀️). Oh well it now brings tourists & income to your neighbour France.
*
Maybe that story is to teach us that we never know what experience from now will turn a blessing or a curse later? What do you think?
*
More so many more pics to come from Iran & Paris while I have just arrived to annual hiking trip with my friends in High Tatras 🌲🌲🌲. Hugs to all!

An Iranian friend told me what stereotypes he heard about Iran. One, believed by a mother of his Western European friend, was that Iran is just 'some desert where people eat with their hands, do not wash themselves etc'. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Yeap..
*
Well, yes Iran has deserts... but also beautiful gardens where water & shade are distributed in the best possible way to provide shelter from the heat. Fin Garden near Kashan, is one of the oldest historical Persian gardens in Iran. It is beautifully set among majestic cyprus trees, and filled with interesting water features, but also includes a spot where a dark political murder took place just over 150 years ago.
TIP: It is often included in the trip from Kashan to Esfahan, but I would have loved to stay there longer, wandering around or reading a book. Do take your time, perhaps sit for a picnic before rushing off to the next destination.
*
Side note - I came back to Europe and with it, came back to instagram. All that BS that made me leave it came back. All the lies, all the 'lovely' profiles that are secretly abusers and liars in private DMs, all lovely 'groups' that you are only invited to if you have big numbers so that the person in the group can grow (oh how lovely = sickening these group meet ups are), all bullshit lies about 'post every day to grow; etc, or maybe 'post holding your nose with a third finger of left hand' 😂 to fool you that you can grow, where people who do grow 500-1000 per day are in 95 lying and cheating, all 'honest stories' about honesty asking for feedback but in reality not responding to uncomfortable DMS and just lying lying lying... I will one day share all the behid the scenes, name all the 'lovely' ladies who do all that (oh yes I will :D) but for now, late but still Iran does not deserve not to be shared so I am back. *

Hello from Iran! 🇮🇷🙏❤️ Incredible Iran, misunderstood Iran, so unappreciated Iran, beyond beautiful Iran...
*
WHAT DO YOU THINK when you hear: she went travelling solo to Iran? Be honest..
*
PRACTICAL NOTE: You may know that in some mosques like pictured here Shrine of Hilal ibn Ali (son in law of the Prophet M) - a MUST VISIT when you get to Kashan - they require women to wear a chador - long piece of material covering your clothes (which is pretty much always available for rent). Did you know though that being BAREFOOT is a no no?I had no socks & a few ladies pointed it out to me telling me in Farsi (I assume) I better cover my toes up. Thankfully in very #Iranian manner they were also very forgiving & laughed it all off. *
iphone post /edit of an iphone shot for now but hope it gives you an idea... idea how in love of the country I am 😍🇮🇷🙏Every place I leave I want to go back to & I soooo regret my trip is only two week long...
*
Yes the people ARE really as welcoming as everyone says. Yes it is VERY SAFE - do not trust my word but check facts & stats. I feel much safer than I would in London or eg Barcelona or Warsaw. Yes it is really that incredibly stunning with so many sights... and now yes it is mega hot often 40 Celsius plus...😀🥵but! that means often no tourists at all! & eg. being the only non local in the best ice cream place in Esfahan 👌👏😊🍦🍦🍦= priceless!
*
I met so many wonderful people I think I will be in tears when I get on my return flight. I want to tell you to come here asap & at the same time I feel like this experience is so pure so wonderful I should maybe keep it all for myself 🙏❤️... but Iran needs and deserves! more tourists, despite all we hear in the media so I hope my posts soon will encourage you to visit this country soon.
*
Hugs from a bus journey to Shiraz.

* WHAT EXPERIENCE THIS YEAR MADE YOU FEEL ALIVE?*
*
*2019 has not been all rosy but even though in that very moment from that picture in Feb I was having a severe chest infection, admiring rock formations at Petra took my breath away (pun intended 😁). Things have not worked out as I wanted them to be, some parts of my heart got broken, but Jordan was still an incredible unexpected adventure.
*
And YOU?
*
TIP (today life kind of a tip): One friend gave me this advice once: if you feel stuck, or hopeless, or sad, or broken, or exhausted.. focus on what makes you feel alive.
*
- ALSO: Basic but be CAREFUL - there is abyss close to me (I did not get dangerously close though). Climbing in Petra stay always very careful as it is easy to slip & injure yourself.
*
To me this would be singing / music & travelling. And so I am off and tomorrow leave London I called home for some time. Wish me luck! 😃😁😃
